As competition grows and banks adapt to evolving market trends, they are introducing features and benefits to attract customers. In line with this, AU Bank has made updates to its AU ixigo Credit Card, reflecting a broader trend of devaluation in the banking sector.
AU Bank has revised its rewards program by discontinuing the accumulation of Reward Points for specific transaction categories. Cardholders will no longer earn Reward Points on international spending, rent payments, government services, or educational expenses. However, Reward Points will still be offered for transactions related to utilities and insurance payments. These changes will take effect on December 22, 2024.
No Reward Points for Foreign Transactions
While the ixigo AU Bank Credit Card continues to offer a 0% forex markup on international transactions, AU Bank has decided to remove Reward Points for foreign transactions. Starting December 22, 2024, cardholders will no longer earn rewards on international spending, a significant drawback for users who value the card for its international benefits.
