The banking sector has undergone notable changes recently, particularly in the realm of AU credit cards. With growing competition and evolving market trends, banks are continually updating their offerings to remain attractive to customers. In line with this trend, AU Bank has revised its ixigo AU Credit Card reward program, reflecting a broader pattern of reward devaluation in the industry.
Key Changes to the ixigo AU Credit Cards
AU Bank has updated its rewards policy, removing the ability to earn reward points on certain transaction categories. Starting December 22, 2024:
1. No Reward Points on Foreign Transactions:
Although the ixigo AU Credit Card continues to offer a 0% forex markup on international transactions, cardholders will no longer earn reward points on any spending made abroad.
2. Exclusion of Specific Categories:
Transactions in select categories—such as education, government payments, rent, and payments made via the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS)—will no longer qualify for reward points.
Eligible Categories for Reward Points
Despite these exclusions, AU Bank will continue to offer reward points for transactions related to utilities and insurance payments, allowing cardholders to earn benefits in these areas.
